Dr. Kushner is a licensed certified clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist with over 25 years of counselling experience. She owns and operates a private practice in Salisbury, Maryland. Although she is comfortable working with a range of personal difficulties, her area of interest and expertise pertains to separation, divorce and marital counselling. With training as a clinical marriage and family therapist  Dr. Kushner is well versed to assist those experiencing relationship breakdown. To date she has completed over 300 child custody and access assessments as a court appointed expert witness. 

Dr. Kushner describes her treatment approach as strength based, encompassing a variety of clinical and theoretical practice models. Her fundamental belief is that human beings by nature are capable of solving their own problems. She sees her role as similar to that of a coach who provides information about a missing skill or insight that will assist her clientele to transcend the personal stumbling blocks causing stress. Her solution-focused approach to counseling is practical, and supportive.
